Aval Pal Pongal (Aadi Pooram Special)

Aadi Pooram Special Aval Pal Pongal Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Ghee: 4 tbsp

  • Cashews: 15 pcs

  • Dry Grapes (Raisins): 2 tbsp

  • Red Aval (Flattened Rice): 150-200 gm

  • Milk: 750 ml (¾ liter)

  • Homemade Condensed Milk: 200 ml

  • Cardamom (Elachi) Powder: A pinch

Procedure:

  1. Heat ghee in a pan.

  2. Add cashews and dry grapes. Fry until golden brown. Remove and set aside.

  3. In the same pan, add red aval and fry lightly for 3-5 minutes.

  4. Pour milk and homemade condensed milk into the pan with the fried aval.

  5. Cook the mixture on medium flame, stirring occasionally, until it thickens and reaches the desired texture.

  6. Add a pinch of cardamom powder for aroma and mix well.

  7. Garnish with the fried cashews and dry grapes. Drizzle a bit of ghee on top for added flavor.

  8. Serve warm and enjoy!

Homemade Condensed Milk Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Full-fat milk: 500 ml

  • Raw cane sugar: 1 cup

  • Baking soda: A pinch

Procedure:

  1. Combine milk and raw cane sugar in a pan.

  2. Heat the mixture on medium flame, stirring occasionally, for 20-25 minutes until it thickens to a creamy consistency.

  3. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

  4. Add a pinch of baking soda and mix well.

  5. Your homemade condensed milk is ready to use!
